When a watch become a warning (July 17)

I was on an assignment in a park downtown around 6 p.m. this evening with some cute dogs and enjoying the humid, sticky, sunny weather when all of a sudden...

That flicker at 4 seconds is a flash of lightening
That's rain, not snow - see it bouncing off the ground?
It took all of 10 mins but boy was it nasty.  It was raining so hard and thundering so loud I was sure something was going to explode.  And then just as quickly as it appeared it was gone.  And just to note, I spend the entire storm safely shooting from inside my car.

Time span of approx. 10 mins

And then.... the sun came back out.  And it was a bit cooler (but not much).

But because so much rain had fallen in such a short period of time....

There were power outages in the west-end and at least one lightening strike (poor tree).  I can't wait to see what tomorrow will bring ....
