Pumpkinferno 2013

In celebration of my new job, my friend Brad and I took a trip to Upper Canada Village to 2013 Pumpkinferno.  Neither of us had seen it before so we figured it would be a fun excursion.

I'm glad that Brad knows me so well because he was very patient waiting for me while I took photos of EVERYTHING.  I'm also really glad I had my tripod in the trunk of my car, because it made all the difference.  I took just over 200 shots, which is a bit conservative for me.  I found I got lost in the experience of the place - the people and their reactions - as much as my own.

We had brought some glow stick bracelets with us and it turned out to be a great idea. I think I would have lost Brad in the crowds if he wasn't wearing the bracelets on his hoodie ties.  It made it easier for him to move ahead and them to be able to find me again.  I had my bracelets in my hair and around my tripod.

This is a definite MUST SEE for next year.

I've added a selection of shots below.
Over 6,000 carved pumpkins were used in this years display

The music was great the first few dozen times but by the time you wound your way through the park it was engrained in your brain - we were both humming it on the way home.

New this year was the House of Horoscopes
