NEW 365 - January 2015

Welcome to the start of 2015.

This is also the start of my third year of doing a photo 365.  I'm really enjoying the daily challenge and hope it's showing in my work.

Things to look forward to in 2015 (or just January):
- Shooting my first top amateur figure skating event as a professional media
- Getting back to the Monday to Friday grind - It means I can go to some weekend events for fun.
- Attending my uncles wedding in NFLD and meeting my cousins little girl (in April)
- Spending more time with my sister, friends and parents
- My first trip to Florida (in February)
- Shooting more video and improving my social media and general photoj skills at work
- Sharing the stories of new and familiar people in the Kingston area

January 1, 2015 - Sudden snow squalls are being blamed for a series of New Year's Day collisions that closed the east bound lane of Hwy. 401 for three hours through the Kingston corridor on Thursday January 1, 2015. Ontario Provincial Police report only minor injuries were sustained.
*EXTRA* January 1, 2015 - Many I spoke with involved in this major crash were amazed and thankful that no one was seriously injured or killed.
January 1, 2015 - Kent Bedore, left and Djanen Esposo-Bedore welcome their daughter, Kaitlyn Allena Bedore, to the world on New Year's Day at Kingston General Hospital on Thursday January 1, 2015. Kaitlyn was born at 2:38 a.m. and is the first baby born in 2015 at KGH.

January 6, 2015 - Anna Sudac, a member of the Salon Acting Company poses as fictional Calvin Hobbes for a special session of local artist Joanne Gervais's weekly Portrait and Figure Group at St. Andrew's Manse on Tuesday. The event is a part of Macdonald Week,  commemoration of Canada's first prime minister, Kingston's Sir John A. Macdonald.
*EXTRA* January 6, 2015 - Patrick Downes, a member of the Salon Acting Company poses as Oliver Mowat for a special session of local artist Joanne Gervais's weekly Portrait and Figure Group at St. Andrew's Manse.
*EXTRA* January 6, 2015 - Local artist David Dossett's three angels frozen art exhibit outside his home on King Street in Kingston, Ont..  His pilot project, Froid'Art Exhibition, will see eight to 10 local artists work displayed in lit frozen blocks of ice on private property in downtown Kingston this winter.
January 7, 2015 - Ten-year-old Riley Burtch, seen here playing with a puzzle maze at his grandmothers house in Kingston, Ont. on Wednesday January 7, 2015, is looking forward to his fundraising dance this Saturday. All the funds raised at the Paws for Riley dance will go towards helping him get an autism service dog.
January 8, 2015 - Team Canada member Lawson Crouse wears his gold medal, won at the 2015 World Junior Champions, to show classmates and teachers at Holy Cross Catholic Secondary School in Kingston, Ont. on Thursday January 8, 2015. The Grade-12 student is looking forward to putting the skills he picked up during the world class tournament towards the Kingston Frontenacs home game on Friday.

January 12, 2015 - Derek Ochej, the public education coordinator for the City of Kingston, is wearing one of the special Snow Angels toques in Kingston, Ont. on Monday January 12, 2015. The city's Snow Angel program was started last year and is a way for Kingston residents to show appreciation to those who lend a helping hand in the winter.

*EXTRA* January 28, 2015 - Matt Salton, festival director, is making the final preparations for the start of the 16th annual Reelout Queer Film + Video Fest at The Screening Room. The festival runs from Jan. 30 to Feb. 7 and will feature 19 different films in seven different locations.
