365 - November 2015

It is once again Movember, National Diabetes - National Alzheimer's Disease - Pancreatic Cancer- NoWriMo - Awareness month, just to name a few.

Things to look forward to this month:
Honouring our fallen with no holiday decorations until after the 11th
Falling back into a better sleep routine with an hour more from Daylight savings
Post-Halloween candy high and pumpkin seeds
Holding on to the warm weather just a few more days - I'm not looking forward to the snow
Family birthdays - father, sister, niece (turning 5yrs-old) & friend

November 5, 2015 - To my surprise, the white birch tree in front of my parents house disappeared yesterday. It had been there longer than my parents have had the house but I guess it was past it's prime and mostly dead.

November 7, 2015 - Kingston Fire and Rescue respond to call just after midnight at 920 Uxbridge Crescent where they discover the back room fully engulfed in flames in Kingston, Ont. on Saturday November 7, 2015. After the fire was knocked down, it was determined to have caused extensive damage. The homeowner was taken to hospital by Regional ambulance with unidentified injuries. No other injuries were reported.

Red poppies, reindeer antlers and santa hats could be seen all along the packed parade route for the 35 annual Amherstview Lions Club's Santa Claus parade in Amherstview, Ont. on Saturday November 7, 2015. Always on the first weekend in November, the 2015 parade had 73 entries and the weather was in sharp contrast to last years with minimal wind and temperatures reaching 10 degrees.

*EXTRA* November 9, 2015 - The Kingston General Hospital Auxiliary announced the start of its annual Teddy Bear Campaign bear in Kingston, Ont. on Monday November 9, 2015 with the introduction of Sentiments the white bear. A bear can be sponsored for $100 which will go towards the purchase of four CARSECAPE V100 Monitors, needed in the pediatric unit.
