365 - June 2017

I'm really enjoying the warmer, sunnier humid weather of Ontario, compared to the dryer western kind.

Things to look forward to in June:
- reviewing my Calgary pics and spending time with Kathy
- More camping (Bon Echo) and girl guide events
- playing fastball with a fun group of women
- Movies in Market Square
- Birthdays - John and my mom
- and lots more....

June 21, 2017 - Donald 'Don' Jennings, seen here outside his home in Kingston, Ont. on Wednesday June 21, has been awarded the Ontario Volunteer Service Award, which is given for dedication and continuous years of service to local organizations. Jennings is receiving this honour for his 60 years as the reunion co-ordinator Queen’s University School of Medicine Class of 1957.

June 23, 2017 - Long-time volunteer Robere Keirstead, centre, with labradoodles Bogie and Marshall, are honoured with a dedication plaque that will go on the newest Buddy Bench at John XXIII Catholic School in Kingston, Ont. on Friday June 23, 2017. Kierstead and her dogs visit the school each week, for the past six year, and help the students learn to read, through help from Keirstead or by reading to Bogi and Marshall, who are both registered in the St. John Ambulance pet therapy program.

*EXTRA* June 28, 2017 - Mark Perrault, the principal at St. Thomas More Catholic School, is retiring this month so some of the reading buddies give him a big 'good luck' hug outside the school in Kingston, Ont. on Wednesday, June 28, 2017. Teaching since 1993, Perrault was appointed to vice principal in 2004 and took on the position of principal at St. Thomas More Catholic School in 2012.
