June 17, 2018 – Certificates, ribbons and medals were handed out by Jamie Mingo, department head of the Mathematics and Statistics department at Queen's University, to the Kingston area finalists of the Canadian Math Kangaroo contest in Kingston, Ont. on Sunday June 17, 2018. This was the first year that the national competition was held in Kingston. The Canadian Math Kangaroo competition introduces youngsters, from grade 1 to grade 12, to math challenges in a fun and enjoyable way, thus inspiring their further interest and advancement in mathematics.
